  • Two St. James boys of summer get to play in the upcoming Men’s State Baseball Tournament.
The St. James A’s lost in tournament play a few weeks ago. The rules of the league are that teams who are still in the Tournament can draft one player from a team like the A’s who were eliminated.
Sleepy Eye chose Kyle Pinke and Lamberton picked Sam Carlson. Both pitchers helped their teams make it to the State Tournament.
The State Tournament starts on Saturday, Aug. 17, for Kyle Pinke and the Sleepy Eye Indians at Maple Lake.
The Lamberton Long Sox will play their first game at the State Tourney on Aug. 24, due to a bye earned  as the number one seed.
