In a live showing Aug. 9, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, featuring Becky Buller, filled out the Princess theater, with more than 140 people in attendance.
The crew made their way to St. James from North Carolina. While Buller is originally from St. James, it had been about a year since she had performed in the area. Both Darin and Brooke are from Cherryville, N.C. and have travelled on several full-nation tours performing their bluegrass and gospel songs.
Darin and Brooke were nominated twice for the Emerging Artist of the Year Award in both 2011 and 2012 by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
Harmonizing with Darin and Brooke is Buller, who is an accomplished musician of her own right. She is a graduate of East Tennessee University and has spent the last ten years on the road performing for a wide variety of audiences. Buller is especially known for her songwriting, which has won several awards since 2001.
The band entertained the St. James crowd Friday night with humor and beautiful songs of love and the Lord. In between songs featuring a fiddle, banjo, guitars and more, the musicians joked about their southern accents and did their best to replicate the Minnesota 'Ohhhs' and 'ya betchas'.
Buller has been a popular attraction in the St. James area and has performed several times during the last few years here in St. James. The community is already looking forward to seeing her perform again in the near future
