Bill and Kate Isles of Duluth, Minn., entertained a large crowd Thursday, Aug. 15 in Memorial Park, St. James.
Residents from Pleasant view along with community members from the St. James area enjoyed the latest installment of the Music in the Park Series as the Isles duo performed some of their most well-known songs along with classics from the 50s.
Bill told anecdotes from their past while explaining how their lives influenced the writing of each song. The couple then harmonized together, spreading music throughout the park.
True performers, the duo continued playing even when a string snapped on Bill during the middle of the song. The couple hardly missed a beat.
Bill and Kate have toured nationally since 2007 and have been writing music together since they first met more than ten years ago. Bill said he enjoyed playing in St. James, having spent two years living here earlier in his career.
It was a beautiful day for a show, with a nice breeze coming off the lake and the sun shining down – temperatures were very comfortable. Bill and Kate wrapped up their show with a planned-encore and loud cheers from their many spectators.
