Early morning on July 25, 19 people packed into two vans and set off for an adventure. It was the first ever 4-H “Mystery Trip,” and it was a huge success.
Educational and Fun, the kids got to go see the Jeffers Petroglyphs, and tour the facility there. They saw lots of ancient carvings, and even got to try their luck at throwing a native American atlatl.
Soon after that and a quick sack lunch, everyone made their way to the Sleepy Eye water park for a short five minutes before being rained out. But in the adventuring spirit, everyone piled back into the vans and headed to an indoor pool.
New Ulm’s Vogel Arena had plenty of fun for the water, and even had a rock wall to climb. After everyone was wrung out, we topped off the day at Hermann Heights, for a light snack and some playground time.
It was no mystery that everyone had fun, and it looks promising to have another mystery trip next year.
