  •     The Splash Park Committee met Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church to discuss where they are at with future fundraising. Currently the goal is $185,000 with $100,000 to go towards construction. The committee is now looking toward the community for assistance. Shannon Stassen, Crookston Chamber CEO, mentioned, "There are a lot of skilled folks in the area who might want to help out," especially in the area of labor. If there is an "In Kind" donation for construction, their goal would drop to $85,000 meaning they would be half way there.
They currently have jars at the local gas stations for contributors and will host a "Girls Night Out" on October 1 at the Eagles Club from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The "Girls Night Out" is not just for women, but the whole family. There will be a taco bar with a free will donation, specialty "Splash Park" beverages, over 30 vendors to shop at, and family activities. They will have face painting and games for the kids plus silent auctions and raffles for everyone else. All proceeds will go to benefit the Crookston Splash Park.
If you would like to make a monetary donation or provide assistance with the future Splash Park, contact Shirley Iverson or Ann Longtin at the Longtin Insurance Agency or online through the Northwest Minnesota Foundation at nwmf.org.
