The recap of the My Youth Football League action from last Saturday.
Sixth Grade BLACK
This past Saturday the St. James sixth grade Black team played the Jackson White team. The St. James boys lost 54-0. There were some good things happeing on both sides of the ball, but St. James couldn't seem to find a rhythm on offense. On defense Sam Garcia, Rylie DeBates and Wyatt Westcott made some key tackles.
Sixth Grade RED
The sixth grade Red had their first home game this last Saturday and ran into another tough Jackson team losing 54-0. The young Saints have showed some great improvement since the last game and have been working hard in practice. On offense Daveon Anderson and Charles Schmidt were the leading rushers.
Logan Carlson threw for 50 yds. One of the highlights of the game was a great pass from Logan Carlson to Troy Paruluski that went for 45 yards.
On defense Logan had five tackles and Jackson Miest and Troy Paruluski had three tackles. This Saturday the Saints travel to Worthington to play the Trojans at 10:30 am.
Third and Fourth Grade RED
The St James third and fourth grade football team suffered a disappointing 54-6 loss to a Jackson Blue team this past Saturday at the St James football field.
The Saints hung close early. Trailing 16-6 at the start of the 2nd quarter. St James was within inches of a momentum changing touchdown when multiple penalties snuffed out their scoring opportunity. Four turnovers and more infractions thwarted the home team’s offensive efforts.
Hayden Jones led the offense with over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown.
