A reunion for all those who served with the 1-125 Field Artillery (past or present) was held at the St. James American Legion this past Saturday.
After a lunch was served by the members of the Watonwan County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, a few were given the opportunity to speak about there experiences and reminisce about the past.
One such speaker was August W. Turner, who served from 1943 to 1945, flying more missions over Italy than he was years old. His speech concluded with a standing ovation from the audience.
In the audience were more than 160 past members of the 1-125 Field Artillery and their family. The group is planning to make this an biennial event and hoping to keep it local.
