  • Fall Bazaar Again Integrates the Community

    • email print
  • The fall bazaar at Good Samaritan Society--St. James has been running almost as long as the facility has been in existence, 50 years, and this year again brought a bountious crop of arts, crafts, and treats. Marlys Boeve, the director of activities, said the fair is always held on the Friday before Thanksgiving, and everything for sale is made by residents, staff, volunteers, or the families of volunteers. Volunteers work each week with residents on crafting the products on sale at the bazaar. “We're known for our fresh, homemade apple pie and our lefse made with real potatoes,” she said. “The community and residents get to mingle together, and it's a win-win for all involved.” For the rest of the story, please see this week's print edition of the St. James Plaindealer.
