Curtis Lynn Odegard, age 57, of Madelia, died on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at his home in Madelia. Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia and will continue on Saturday from 2 until 3 p.m. at the Albion Lutheran Church in rural St. James. Service will be held at the Albion Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 3 p.m. The clergy will be Pastor Robert Springer. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Curtis L. Odegard was born on January 16, 1956 in Madelia, the son of Orrie and Betty (Beckius) Odegard. He was baptized and confirmed at Albion Lutheran Church and graduated from St. James High School. He has lived in the St. James and Madelia area his entire life. Through the years, Curtis has held a variety of jobs in the area. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, vacationing at Spider Lake, visiting and talking with people, and spending time with his family and grandkids.
He is survived by his children, Benjamin (Stephanie) of Madelia, and Katie of Madelia; his mother, Betty Odegard; four grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Cindy) of Mankato, Roger (Sue) of Prior Lake, David of St. James, and Al of St. James.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orrie; and a brother, Marlin.
