  • County Board Approves New Sheds, Shoots Down E-Timecards

    • email print
  • During their meeting Tuesday morning, the Watonwan County Board approved the 2014 levy and budget proposed during their December 3 meeting, approved a motion to build three new recycling sheds, and declined to proceed with implementation of an E-Timecard system. Solid Waste Officer Marjorie Smith asked the board for permission to build new recycling sheds in Darfur, Odin, and Godahl. The sheds currently in those locations were built in 1997, but she said they're too small and made from poor material. “The new ones should last for a long time,” she said. The cost for materials for each would be about $4,000--for a total of around $12,000. For more details on the board meeting, please see Thursday's print edition of the St. James Plaindealer.
