Five--Four--Three--Two--One! Happy New Year! Another year has come and gone and with a new year comes a new resolution.

A New Year's resolution is a promise a person makes for the new year--but regardless of what resolution you commit to, the goal is to improve life in the coming year. From setting a goal for saving money, learning something new, or simply trying to have a better balance between home life and work life. But getting healthier and losing weight tends to be the front runner amongst the lists of top resolutions. Notably, fitness clubs tend to visibly see a fast spike in membership numbers and personal training clients.

Anytime Fitness--located on first avenue in St. James--sees this jump happen every year.
Personal trainer and manager of Anytime Fitness Beth Henderson says the months of January to March are their busy months.

"We see an increase in business during these months every year," said Henderson. "People are excited to try something new and kick start an exercise program for the new year."
