During the “Lunch and Learn” series meeting Thursday in the Watonwan County Library, Molly Westman--economic and community development director for the city of St. James--explained the student internship program funded by the St. James Area Foundation.

It was first conducted several years ago through a one-time pilot grant, she said. When that money dried up, so did the program.

It was brought back last year, however, through a grant from the St. James Area Foundation, and the program will be conducted again this summer, she said. “We’ve had huge successes, and we find value in making sure (the program) continues.”
