In a promotion new this year, the St. James High School tennis courts’ parking lot will be the site for a “Drive a Ford” event; Ford Motor Co. will donate $20--up to $6,000--to the District 840 Foundation for every person who test drives a Ford Wednesday evening.
All the vehicles come from Madelia Ford, and test-drives will be limited to one-mile roundtrips, said Pam Runge, who heads the foundation. It will only take an individual about ten minutes--five for the test-drive, and five more to fill out the requisite paperwork before taking the vehicle out for a spin.
There is a maximum of 300 spots, and Runge is hoping that at least 250 people will join in the promotion. Individuals can register until all 300 spots have been filled. Those interested can reserve their time-slot and model they’d like to drive by calling Runge at 507-375-5974 extension 121 or via email at email@example.com.
Appointments will start at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and conceivably could run until 9 p.m., she said.
