I was at a lunch with a group of civil rights lawyers when the news came across that Barry Obama was going to back the town of Greece, New York in a case before the US Supreme Court entitled Galloway v. Greece. Since backing the town of Greece was akin to backing the KKK, we were certain that the news was wrong. Indeed, it was not, and today the Obama Regime has the proud distinction of having sided with a conservative, Catholic majority against a plularistic and sane outcome. In short, for those who missed it, the Supreme Court said today that it does not violate the establishment clause for a municipality to open a public meeting with a prayer that specifically invokes Jesus. The Court’s three Jews, and one Obama appointee, dissented.

So why would Obama decide to jump into bed with a conservative majority on one of the weirdest cases since Bush v. Gore? Well, first of all, the real losers here other than Americans and the Constitution, are Jews who are now effectively banned from attending public gatherings, as the Court has now turned town halls into Christian churches. As I’ve noted on this blog on several occasions, America’s small Jewish population is increasingly voting Republican, and the movement of Jews from New York and New Jersey is now dilluting that small remaining Jewish vote. At the same time, Obama is pandering to the immigrant Latino vote, which is necessary for Democratic victory and which is sizable. So it appears that in the interests of politics, Obama has traded the Jewish vote for the Latino Catholic vote, and the Constitution be damned.

As I’ve also noted on this blog, this Regime has had a distinctly anti-semitic overtone since its inception, with certain Jewish criminal defendants being held to a different standard than other defendants, and with some high profile Jews now rotting in Obama’s Gulag. And then we have the irrational Israeli/PLO “peace process” initiative in which the Obama regime is able to dis a strong Middle Eastern ally to curry Arab votes in Detroit, which went so far as sending Kerry out to compare Israel to apartheid.

And now we have the decision to back an extremist Christian majority on the US Supreme Court that tosses out at least forty years of common sense First Amendment interpretation. Its not unconstitutional, the Supremes tell us, because you can leave if you don’t like the prayer. Leave, as in not participate in democratic process. Any Jew who still supports Obama, is nuts. Fortunately, that number is dwindling. But anyone who values the Constitution, and democracy and public participation, and who previously doubted institutionalized anti semitism from within the White House actually exists need look no further than Galloway v. Greece.
