Longtime St. James resident Herb Traub, who owned and operated a jewelry store and a watch repair shop in St. James after returning from service as a staff sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps from 1944-1946, was able to enjoy an “honor flight” and tour of Washington, D.C., April 26.

“It was incredible, and we were treated so well,” said Traub’s daughter, Beth Shoen, who accompanied him on the flight. “He did thank me for the trip of a lifetime.”
