The St. James Salutators called on BKC Construction Monday; Brett Curry had run his construction business from his home for over 20 years before moving into new digs this past November.

His new office and shop, in a building just past where the St. James Vet Clinic is located, had been a body shop. But, when the owner retired, Curry--who had long been pondering a move--finally pulled the trigger.

With the Salutators visit, “the town recognizes us as a business,” Curry said. He began his business in 1989 and incorporated around the turn of the century.

The new place give him somewhere to go other than his house, and it relieves congestion in the home, he said. He employs six men full-time, and he adds summer help as business warrants.
