The Watonwan County Fair played host to the first National Truck and Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA)/Biodiesel tractor pull in approximately 20 years Wednesday evening.

The catalyst for returning the event--presented by NTPA/Biodiesel and the United Pullers of Minnesota--to the fair’s program was Dean Karau, a member of the fair board.

“I can’t complain; the sponsors came through, we have a good turnout, and we should have about 50 hooks (pullers),” he said. “You can’t complain about the weather...good show.”

Karau even got to lead off the pull Wednesday.

“We’re trying for more community involvement at the fair,” Karau said. “It’s a lot of work to put this together.”
