  • So far this weekend, the St. James legion have played two games, beating Luverne 18-8 and then winning 7-3 against Blue Earth.
The star of game one against Luverne was Bransen Petersen and his seven RBIs.  Both he and Ryan Menssen had 4 hits.  A lot of the team’s success was thanks to their patience at the plate.  Justin Stevens led the team with three walks but David Bradley and Devin Wolle also reached on free passes.  Brady Halvoerson drove in four in the 18-8 win.
The game against Blue Earth was a little closer, but St. James led all game, starting with a five run second inning.  Walker Froehling pitched the whole game, striking out 8.  It was a whole team effort.  Menssen was the only St. James player with multiple RBI.
St. James will play Blue Earth this afternoon (July 26) in Redwood Falls at 1:00p.m. The winner will head to State.
