Police Chief Mark Carvatt brought up the topic of over night parking and parking rules within the city. current traffic laws say that there is no street parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., with violators receiving a $10 ticket.
Councilman Don Mackey was passionate about the topic, and thought that it was wrong to punish people for parking in the city over night because many of them may leave their cars their after they've been drinking. Carvatt understood Mackey’s concern, but pointed out that the current parking rules are in place to prevent renters from parking on the street and taking up spots for potential costumers during business hours.
