When you are out and about, go by the St. James Community Building between 11 am and 1:00 pm any day Monday through Friday and you are bound to find a happy group enjoying a good meal and doing something fun.
Last Wednesday senior citizens enjoyed the singing of “Lonesome Ron,” a country singer who hails from Mankato. Lonesome Ron was most likely back by popular demand as he has played the Community Building scene before. The crowd cheered and tapped toes as Lonesome Ron sang favorites from the likes of Johnny Cash, Roy Rogers, Hank Williams and Gene Autry,  just to mention a few. Ron sang songs like “Sioux City Sue” and “I’m an Old Cowhand from the Rio Grand.” He did a pretty good imitation of Eddie Arnold when he sang, “Why can’t I melt your cold, cold heart.”
The Monday through Friday Senior Meal is provdied by the City of St. James and the service of Lutheran Social Services. Jacque Sondag is the local food service director.
