The last 18 months have not been the best ones for the town of Lewisville. However, you would not know it by the town spirit dispayed at this past weekend’s Lewisville Fun Daze. Town residents and visitors came out in numbers to celebrate the annual event. If the creativity and energy displayed at the event is any indication of how Lewisville will fare in the days ahead, the town has lots to look forward to.
Three new events were added to the schedule of events this year. The Adult Bean Bag Toss designed by Chris Kost was definitely a hit attraction and stayed busy all day.
Another new attraction was the Goldy Wedding Game which featured six couples answering questions to see how well they knew their mates. Leonard and Patty Frosland beat out five other couples with the most matching answers. The Froslands have been married 25 years.
The First Annual Chili Cook off featured 9 entries and each was delicious, some hotter than others. The Plaindealer’s Choice was the Cowboy Chili.
Always popular was the Kids Pedal Pull with a full slate of entries from 3 year olds-11 year olds. First and Second place in the upper age groups qualified for a trip to the regional Kids Tractor Pull Competition.
This years Farmer Olympic Champion was Terry Mohwinkel who had the best time in the six events.
Thanks to the Americana Cafe for the great buffalo burgers. It was this reporter’s first burger from a buffalo and  it was fantastic!
