The St. James Saints (1-5) lost on the road to a tough opponent in the Luverne Cardinals (4-2) on October 7. Things started out well for the Saints as they enjoyed a 7-6 lead after the first quarter. Saints’ senior quarterback Sandis Skow connected with former starting quarterback Brady Stevens on a 34-yard completion to help set up St. James’ lone touchdown drive. Saints’ seniors Roi Wessels and Jacob Brey also got involved during the first quarter to help St. James take the lead. Unfortunately for St. James, Luverne scored 20 unanswered points in the second quarter which made the score 26-7 at the half.
