The Butterfield City Council meeting took place on October 11th at Butterfield City Hall. Butterfield Mayor Harry Hanson was in attendance, along with City Council members Les Schlomann, Nick Mathistad, Jim Warwick, Cindy Baerg, and City Clerk Treasurer Leslie Heffele. Eagle Scout Jacob Suess presented his park cleaning project that opened up better access to the Butterfield Lake Trail. In addition, Butterfield residents raised concerns about flooding in the area. The City Council members also addressed the increased cost of living that was brought on after the state of Minnesota raised the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour. The Butterfield City Council approved the purchase of a new chain saw in preparation for a rough winter.
