On October 6 the St. James cross country teams were in Fairmont. The meet was run between downpours of rain which left the course a bit muddy and slippery.
For the boys team, they finished in 4th place out of 13 total teams in the meet. Lukas Pierson was the low time for the Saints with a time of 18:01, which was good enough to place him in 15th place.
The girls team finished 11th out of 12 teams in Fairmont. MacKinzee Miest was able to handle the rain and mud well and was the top finisher for the Saints with a time of 20:45 placing her in 9th place overall.
On October 11 the boys and girls Saints cross country team traveled to Blue Earth for the Buc Invitational.
The girls were first to run and finished placing 4th out of four complete teams at the meet. Mackinzee Miest had the lowest time for St. James at 20:45 which was good enough to give her the third fastest time.
The boys were next and lost an extremely close team race with Belle Plain. St. James combined time was 126 minutes and 57 seconds, and Belle Plain was 126 minutes and 38 seconds. Lukas Pierson had the lowest time in the meet with a time of 17 minutes flat.
“The team ran well at the Riverside Town and Country Club outside of Blue Earth. The boys hope to continue to improve and look forward to the Big South Conference meet next Tuesday, in Worthington,” said Saints cross country coach Brad Stark.
