On Tuesday the St. James gymnastics team traveled to Waseca for a meet. The Saints were able to manage 103.775 points, but that was not good enough to beat Waseca’s 129.05 points. “The girls are trying new skills, which is great, but its always difficult the first few times. Coming off of a long holiday break was a little rough but the team tried their best,” said head coach Chelsea Siewert.

Gabby Nett, Korryn Karau, and Elizabeth Asendorf were the Saints that competed in the all around competition. Korryn Karau led this group with 26.75 points. Nett added 24.9 points, and Asendorf tallied 26.2.

“We are looking forward to having the rest of this week and most of next week to practice new skills before our next meet in St. Peter,” added Siewert.

The gymnastics team will be back in action on Saturday making up a postponed meet in St. Peter.
