On January 13 the St. James gymnastics team traveled to St. Peter to make up a meet that was postponed from December 16. The team was unable to beat St. Peter, the final score of the meet was St. James - 107.05 St. Peter - 125.7.

St. James excelled on the vault, “Vault was our best event. The girls worked hard the past week to get their vault scores up and I'm very happy with the results,” said head coach Chelsea Siewert. Korryn Karau scored the highest on the vault with a score of 8.2, Elizabeth Asendorf and Hannah Loewen were right behind her eclipsing the 8 point mark.

Asendorf, Karau, and Gabby Nett were the three gymnasts that competed in the all around competition. Elizabeth Asendorf placed 3rd in all around with a score of 27.45 and Gabby Nett placed 4th in all around with a score of 27.

“We had some girls trying more difficult skills in their routines which is great,” added Siewert.

In addition to a strong routine on the vault, Karau placed 3rd on bars with a score of 7.05. “She put some more difficult skills in her bar routine which boosted her score,” said Siewert.
