On January 19 the Saints Gymnastics team traveled for yet another away game in New Ulm. St. James was able to tally their highest team score this season with 107.375, unfortunately New Ulm was able to score 134.745 to win the meet.

“We had a great night on the beam; many of the girls stuck their beam routines which was very exciting for us,” said head coach Chelsea Siewert. Leading the Saints on the beam was Korryn Karau with a score of 8.0, and Elizabeth Asendorf was right behind her with a score of 7.95. Karau also competed in the all around competition and placed 4th with a score of 27.8, once again Asendorf was not far behind, placing 5th with a score of 26.95.

The team has been steadily improving their team score since the beginning of the year. “We are hoping for a score of 110 in our next meet. The girls have been working hard on improving their routines and I think that will pay off for them in the scores,” said Siewert.

The Saints were all set to travel to Martin County West on Tuesday, but due to the snow storm coming in the meet was postponed.
