This past Friday, the city of St. James welcomed Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon to town. Simon met with Watonwan County auditor and treasurer Don Kuhlman to discuss the aging election equipment that is currently in use. For Simon, this is an important issue on the agenda that affects local as well as national elections.
“I am working with city groups, county groups, and others. The goal is to see if we can get some state financial support or aid for local elections administrators to buy new equipment," said Simon.
