The St. James High School is bringing the lovable Clampett family onstage for an evening of hillbilly hilarity in their upcoming performance of “The Beverly Hillbillies” April 7 & 8.

Jed Clampett (Parker Henderson), an impoverished mountaineer is living alongside an oil rich swamp with his daughter, Elly May (MacKinze Meist) and his mother-in-law, Granny (Gabby Nett.) Surveyors for an oil company (Jeff Willemssen and Julian Trejo) realize the size of the oll field, and the company pays him a fortune for the right to drill on his land.

Jed’s cousin, Pearl (Mikayla Clipperton), prods him to move to California after being told his mountain cabin property could yield $25 million. His family, along with their nephew, Jethro (Brandon Johnson) move into a wealthy mansion in Beverly Hills, next door to his banker, Milburn Drysdale (Brady Stevens) and his wife (Sara Craig).

They bring their moral, unsophisticated mountain standards to the swanky Beverly Hills “city folk.” The show runs Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.  For reservations call the high school activities office at 375-5602.
