The St. James City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday of this week.
The first item on the agenda was to approve construction work to be done at the Library. This project was agreed to be done a year ago, but they were unable to find a contractor. They have reached out to local contractors, and Brett Curry was the only one who said he could get it done. With the construction going on with the Highway 4 Project, the plan is to tackle redoing the cement on the East Side of the building. The way the concrete currently sits, it is slanted towards the building which has lead to leaking inside the building. This leakage is putting the books and computer information at risk.
