Memorial Day is a national day of remembrance for the brave soldiers who have perished while protecting our freedoms. That tradition continued this past Monday as members of the American Legion in St. James and the Butterfield VFW Honor Guard made its way to a total of seven cemeteries in the Butterfield area.

In St. James, there was a ceremony that was held at the American Legion. The Commander of Legion Post 33 is Gary Sturm, and he welcomed everybody and introduced everybody on the platform, including, especially the speaker for the day, Bruce Aamot.
