St. James will be bringing in visitors from all over on Thursday, August 31st for the opening of the new mini roundabouts in St. James.

During the event, different organizations and businesses will be participating, especially those businesses affect- ed most by the road construction. Some stores will be offering in store specials, while others will simply be open extended hours to thank customers for being patient during the road construction. Many businesses downtown have been affected by the road construction for a number of reasons. The Roundabout Rodeo is an event that the St. James Chamber of Commerce hopes will help businesses downtown attract customers again. During the event someone will also be the winner of $250 in Chamber Bucks. During the event businesses will also be giving out door prizes.

Some of the educational events that will take place during the event include a seatbelt demonstration by Watonwan TZD, and a pedestrian safety station which will teach people how to cross the street properly with the new traffic signals. People will also be allowed to learn how to use the mini round- abouts by driving on a golf cart with a MNDOT employee. During this time the employees will explain the different rules about driving in a mini round- about and answer any questions anyone may have. People will also have the opportunity to try back- in parking with the golf cart and a MNDOT employee.
