The St. James Area volley- ball team was the first team to play a game in the new St. James event center playing host to Waseca on Tuesday, September 12th. With a packed house the Lady Saints won the first set 25-23 but ultimately lost in 4 sets.
Some highlights for the Saints during the match include impressive performance during services. Brooklyn Mickelson had an ace while Danielle Chapin and Mariah Leimer both had 2 aces. Also standing out during services was Callie Coleman who had a perfect game going 9/9 on serves. Also going perfect on serves was Chapin who went 14/14. Alysa Anderson also played well ending the game with 10 kills. Olivia Fredin and Jadyn Anderson both ended the game with a block a piece to round out the notable performances.
The Lady Saints also faced off against Jackson on Monday, September 11th. The Saints lost all three sets but played a very tight first set losing only by 2 with a final of 25-23. Some big performances by the Saints in the match include 13 digs by Callie Coleman and 7 by Danielle Chapin . Other notable performances included Allison Wolle who had 10 set assists and Alyssa Anderson who had 3 kills. Another notable performance came from Jayden Anderson who had 3 kills and 2 blocks in the game.
