Scott Sanders, lifelong farmer, rural St. James resident and 15 year Watonwan County Commissioner, has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Representative from Minnesota House District 23B in the upcoming special election.
Sanders will serve the citizens of District 23B in the same good government, common sense manner that he has served Watonwan County as a commissioner for 15 years and all the counties in Minnesota as a director of the statewide Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT) for 12 years, including the past 4 years as chair.
Sanders was born and raised in St. James and currently lives on the family farm in rural St. James with his wife, Amy. The Sanders have five children and two grandchildren. Sanders graduated from St. James High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Minnesota in Agricultural Engineering.
