In June of 2017 St. James High School 9th grader Mya Hanson was told by art teacher Lynne Rolshoven that she was a talented artist and there was an art contest that she should enter.
Luckily, Hanson entered the contest and not only did well, but won the whole thing. The contest was to draw a logo for MMSA’s conference. The winner would have their logo appear on the front cover of the program.
The competition which was open to any Minnesota middle schooler featured about forty other competitors. The main rule for the competition was to draw a logo that matched the theme of innovation.
