The library was full of children’s happy chattering as they entered the library Saturday morning. Parents and kids lined up at the doors for a chance to escape winter and Cabin Fever. Several crafts were lined up as well as a scavenger hunt which involved all things outdoors. One child even came running to exclaim “Theres a fire in the library” when she discovered the tent and pretend camp fire in the back corner. The best part of the day was unanimously the ice cream. Children’s Services Librarian, Megan Karau, and her father set up two homemade ice cream machines and let the children take turns with the ingredients, and of course, cranking the machines. It was definitely worth the work and the wait kids agreed as they ate their ice cream piled high with toppings.
