The following State Fair results were released today.
Watonwan had 19 youth representing Watonwan County with their state fair animals. Those
representing the St. James area were: Landon McGuire, Lukas, Seth, Ryan Pierson, Noah Wolle, Levi
Miest, Nora & Charles Schmidt, Trenton Kettner, Lucas Doll, Kahsen Van Wyk, and Kaydi Anderson.,
Seven youth won purple ribbons in their classes. Our statistics were:
Beef—1 Blue & 1 Red
Our Beef team took 3rd place in herdsmanship.
Dairy—1 Purple (Noah Wolle), 5 Blue, & 2 Red
Lukas, Seth, & Ryan Pierson along with Levi Miest competed in the Dairy Judging Contest.
Seth & Ryan also gave a Dairy Demonstration at the state fair, and along with their brother
Lukas were Dairy Showcase participants.
Goat—4 purple (Lucas Doll, Emily Grote, Trenton Kettner, Kashen Van Wyk)
Kashen Van Wyk won the Champion Breeding Jr. Doe
Trenton Kettner was a goat interview finalist, and took Reserve Champion in showmanship for
Our Goat team took 2nd place in herdsmanship.
Poultry—1 Purple (Kevin Bolte), 1 Blue & 2 Reds
Kevin Bolte won Reserve Champion Flying Pair Pigeon
Our Poultry team took 3rd in herdsmanship.
Sheep—1 Purple (Kaydi Anderson) Plus Kaydi was the Champion White Face Market Lamb, and
participated in the State Fair Purple Ribbon Auction.
Watonwan youth sent 22 youth to the state fair with their general exhibits. Youth representing the St.

Youth entered in Fashion Review spend the entire day with interviews, fashion & modeling tips, and
