On Sunday, February 21st the original oil painting “Our Railroad Heritage” will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the American Legion. Print #1 of 300 will also be on the auction block.
The original painting may be seen at St. James Federal. The print which is a salute to St. James’ 140th birthday is 18x24 and painted by Steven Klassen.
The print can be purchased for $60.00 or fully matted and framed for $150.00. Six combinations are available: dark blue, forest green and brown tweed. These colored mattings can then be framed in light or dark.
Samples are available at Pioneer Bank (Dark-Blue) First National Bank (Light-Brown) and St. James Plaindealer (Dark-Forest Green). Order forms are available at all three locations plus the Chamber of Commerce and the Hickory Inn.
We will be taking orders during the Railroad Breakfast and Pie Auction on February 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and also during the steak fry on February 20th.
Anyone who has ordered a print from a committee member will be able to pick it up on February 21st at the Legion.
Supply of prints is limited to 300 so you will need to order early in order to be certain we do not run out.
Don’t forget to attend this great breakfast put on by St. James Federal with all proceeds going to Railroad Days.
Dot Otto, Chairman of the pie auction, assures us of some “great” pies for your middle. Auction will begin about 10:00 a.m. Don’t miss our super auctioneers Mayor Gary Sturm and Jim Paulson.
