Let’s Go Fishing is planning a fundraiser meal on Saturday, June 27th during the St. James Railroad Days celebration. The meal will be served at the St. James VFW before and after the parade from 4:00-6:00 and from 8:00-9:00. The dinner will have a main entree choice of walleye or shrimp served with coleslaw, a baked potato and dinner roll. The Over 60 Band will play and entertain from 8:00-9:00. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Monday, June 15th, the Let’s Go Fishing Pontoon made its 2009 maiden voyage with residents of Homestead. With the cold and rainy spring Watonwan County has been experiencing, all on board were nervous about the weather. Although the trip started with a few light sprinkles, a beautiful and relaxing cruise around St. James Lake was able to be experienced by the senior citizens.
Immediately following the excursion around the lake, the Senior Advisory Council provided a light summer supper in the common’s room at Homestead.
The Let’s Go Fishing pontoon is available to be booked for excursions for groups of four or more people age 55 or older. If you are interested in scheduling an excursion or becoming a Let’s Go Fishing volunteer please call the Wellspring Faith in Action office at 375-1276.
