Truman, Minn., December 28, 2009 --- In the spirit of giving, the WFS Energy Division has committed to making a half cent per gallon donation to area food shelves on all propane sales from December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2010. With annual propane sales from 6 – 7 million gallons, this donation in whole will total approximately $35,000. Knowing that the holiday season is a difficult time for many food shelves, WFS decided to make an advance donation in the amount of $16,500 in anticipation of their propane sales for the coming months.
“With the present economic conditions, we felt that donating to area food shelves was a good way to support the many communities we serve,” states Randy Cole, WFS Energy Division Manager. “We know that there are a lot of people struggling right now, especially this time of year; we just want to do what we can to make this coming year better for everyone.”
WFS will make their final calculations for their committed donation at the end of November 2010 and present the food shelves with the remaining portion of the donation by December 15, 2010.
