A benefit is being held for Tony Karau on November 22nd at the Eagles Club from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tony was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease -- a form of cancer -- on June 10th of this year.
The benefit will help offset costs, including chemotherapy.
Tony works at BKC Construction in St. James, specializing in cement work. He also helps brother Dean on the farm and he shovels people’s driveways in the winter.
Tony has two brothers, a sister, and a daughter, Corin, who is eight years old.
Coincidentally, Tony’s grandmother on his mom’s side was diagnosed with cancer at the same age as Tony -- 41 years old.
Sufferers of Hodgkin’s Disease have a high survival rate with treatment.
