    Callie Sirovy was selected as the 2009 Minnesota Valley Action Council’s Community Action Achievement Award honoree for Watonwan County. One award is presented annually to a county resident in each of the nine counties served by MVAC. This award was established to recognize and honor people who have utilized MVAC’s opportunities and who has demonstrated outstanding achievements; growth by overcoming multiple barriers; making vast improvements; and/or achieving self-reliance.
    Callie received services through MVAC as part of a Dislocated Worker program. As a participant in this program, Callie received training services in the area of Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide. This past November, Callie received her Nurse Aide certification and was able to quickly find full time employment. Her determination to succeed was a great asset that assisted Callie in completing her goals.
    Other 2009 MVAC Community Action Achievement Award honorees include Jasmine Jackson from Blue Earth County, Willy Talledge from Brown County, Ron Martin from Faribault County, Alison Johnson from LeSueur County, Kelsey Feldmann from Nicollet County, Eliaerica Gonzalez from Sibley County and Aleyda Izaguirre from Waseca County.
