The St. James Ambulance Service has been serving the public for 35+ years. Last August 2009 something happened aboard one of their ambulances that had never occurred before - a baby was delivered while in route from St. James to Mankato. Two EMTs and one doctor were aboard. Dr. Lindy Eatwell of the St. James Medical Center/Mayo Systems brought the newborn into the world, and the bouncing baby girl is today doing quite well, thank you!
In November 2009 the service received another surprise, “The Golden Stork” award from the Emergency Service Regulator Board (EMSRB). On hand to accept the award were the crew that was in the ambulance that day: Laure Standerwick (EMT), Dr. Lindy Eatwell (EMT/M.D.) and Paul Berg (EMT).
