A St. James woman, Amanda Sue Persinger, died Monday, July 26th, as a result of an automobile accident on July 10. The 22-year-old passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 31, at the Assembly of God Church in St. James.
Persinger is the fifth victim of the crash which occurred early Saturday morning, July 10th. The other four victims--three riding along with Amanda and one other driving--were pronounced dead at the scene. None of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The semi-truck driver involved in the accident was treated and released shortly after the accident.
