Audrey Ruth (Turvey) Ulrich, 88, went home to heaven on Feb. 7, 2017. Visitation took place at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 and the funeral followed at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 S. 4th St. Watertown, Wis. with Rev. Paul Jansen and Rev. Brett Brauer officiating. Burial took place at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia, Wis. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity of one’s choice. Audrey was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 11, 1928 to Luther Ray and Evelyn Olive (Root) Turvey. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. As a young woman, Audrey was employed at Stouffer’s Restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio where she met and served many colorful stage personalities. Audrey was united in marriage to Amil Eugene Ulrich on Feb. 24, 1951 in North Olmstead, Ohio. Their union was blessed with 11 children. Audrey dedicated her life to her Lord and to raising her children. Audrey and her family lived primarily in the Midwest. In the final years of her life, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, Wis. Due to hardships, Audrey was not able to complete high school. In 1989, she returned to school to earn her High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) from Arkansas at the age of 60! She enjoyed gardening and canned many harvests. Her sewing skills came in handy with her large family. Many quilts adorn the beds of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Audrey was also well known for her baking. The welcoming smell of fresh bread greeted family and friends when they entered her warm kitchen.

Audrey is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Sherwood) Wessel, Mary-Anne (James) Schwartz, Donna (Hildebrandt) Ulrich, Naomi (George) Hansen, Martin Ulrich, Titus (Paul) Ward-Ulrich, Paul (Alison) Ulrich, Sarah Bischoff, Esther (Brian) Rath, and Ethan (Stephanie) Ulrich; 28 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Turvey and Lori Turvey Engel and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amil; sons, Job and Matthew; grandson, Paul Larsen; brother, Luther Ray Turvey and sister, Jan Turvey.
