Audrey Marie Zender, 95, of St. James died on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Emerald Crest of Shakopee in Shakopee.

Audrey Marie Zender, 95, of St. James died on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Emerald Crest of Shakopee in Shakopee. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 26 at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Timothy Hall as celebrant. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Visitation was one hour before Mass at the church on Friday. The family would prefer memorial to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of ones choice. Audrey was born Dec. 2, 1921 in Currie, the daughter of August and Leata (Connors) Keim. Audrey grew up in St. James. She attended St. James Catholic School and in 1939 graduated from St. James High School. She went to work in Dr. Bregel's office and at the Forester Furniture Store. On Feb. 21, 1944, she was united in marriage to Clem Zender. The couple had two sons Mike and Dennis. Audrey became a work at home mother raising her family. She was active in many church activities; Catholic Order of Foresters, Christian Mothers and WCCW (where she received the Bishop's Medal), she also enjoyed crazy eight club, bridge club, the St. James Garden Club and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Mike Zender (Cherryl Lofgren) of Edina, and Dennis (Lucy) Zender of Hastings; five grandchildren: Alex, Joe, Emily, Sarah and Laura; 10 great-grandchildren: James, Lane, Luke, Zach, Josh, Ella, Cole, Emmett, Mary and Grace. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clem; parents, August and Leata; and brother, Donald.
