David Karl Bowers was born to Arlo Bowers (deceaced) and Gladys Sube (St. James) on May 13, 1963 in Redwood Falls, the youngest of four children, Dale Bowers (Mo.), Lois Reinert (Tracy) and Steve Bowers (deceased). He attended Catholic School in Morgan and then at Winsted Holy Trinity and graduated in 1981 from Dassel-Cokato. He worked for 16 years at Curry Sanitation in St. James and was saw shop manager at UPI in Windom for 10 years. He was the most loyal, loving husband to wife, MaLinda (Thurston), and they were married Aug. 1, 2015 after being together 24 years. He was most proud of his step-daughter Miranda Thurston (Hamline University - St. Paul) whom he raised from infancy and to whom he was the best father anyone could ever ask for. His life was cut far too short when he was taken by a heart attack July 6, 2017 at just 54 years old. It is a devastating loss to his family as this extraordinary man can never be replaced.

There will be a memorial gathering at his home in Butterfield (540 Drake Ave.) on Saturday, July 29, 2 to 4 p.m. for anyone who would like to celebrate his life.
