Darlene R. Anderson 79, of St. James was called to her eternal rest on Saturday morning, April 14, 2018

Darlene R. Anderson 79, of St. James and formerly of Trimont and Fairmon, was called to her eternal rest on Saturday morning, April 14, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 20, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the Church. A Celebration of Life Service for Darlene will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 21, at the First Presbyterian Church in St. James. Burial will be at a later date in Elm Creek Cemetery in rural Trimont. Darlene Rae Flohrs was born on Oct. 25, 1938 to Alvin and Dorothy (Schiller) Flohrs St. James. She was baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township, rural Ormsby. Darlene attended rural district #67 in Galena Township until attended Triumph-Monterey High School graduating with the class of 1956. Began her employment as a personal corn detassler, telephone operator, and bookkeeper for the Trimont Hospital and for Dr. Parsons Office. On Aug. 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Larry Anderson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Galena Township. After their marriage they lived in Trimont and Darlene was employed at 3-M in Fairmont. Since 1978 they owned and operated Trimont Our Own Hardware in Trimont and in 1978 opened Hen House Gift Shop and opened Grannies Cupboard in 1986 all in one building and operated it until 1998 when they moved to Fairmont. She opened and operated My Favorite Things in Fairmont until 2002 when they moved to Excelsior. They were on site property manager’s for Excelsior Bay Gables Condos until 2014 when they moved to St. James. Darlene was a current member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. James and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Excelsior. Darlene taught Sunday School, was a VBS Teacher and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Trimont and Fairmont Chamber of Commerce. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to plan parties and events.

She is survived by her husband: Larry Anderson of St. James; blessed by two children: Rodney Anderson and wife, Jane, of Trimont, and Dawn and her husband, Paul Lillevold of rural Ormsby; seven grandchildren, Cierra (Mat) Thibert, Janaya (Erich) Munsch, Jackie (Travis) Sheridan, Jeff Lillevold, Terry Connors, Courtney (Jerrod) Fritz and Cameron Lillevold; seven great-grandchildren; sister: Dianne (Sterling) Adamson of Trimont; brother and sister-in-law: Lowell and Elaine Flohrs of Fairmont; sister-in-law: Eileen Flohrs of Minnesota Lake; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Daryl and Dee Anderson of rural Sherburn; nieces and nephew; aunts: Audrey Schiller of St. James and Lucille Flohrs of Ormsby and other relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Roger Flohrs; sister: Mary and brother-in-law: Norman Shaffer; nephew: Keith Shaffer; niece: Cheri Anderson; special uncle: Bob Schiller; son-in-law: Lonny Tesdahl and other relatives.
