Harvey C Ratzlaff, 91, born Aug. 30 1926, the last of his generations passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 30, 2018. Please join Harvey's family and friends in celebrating his life and love on Saturday, June 16 at the First Presbyterian Church of St James located at 706 3rd Avenue South. Visitation begins at 12 p.m., with the service commencing at 2p.m., Cake and coffee reception following.

Harvey loves included: Gladys, who he called the love of his life; babies; his garden by nurturing his tomatoes to be the best ever tasted by composting everything; to sing with the birds; feeding his feral cat pets; pitching balls to his kids and playing hotbox in the backyard: making soup; following his own directions; never arguing; tinkering with cars; building toyboxes for his grandkids; woodworking; bowling; golf; dancing the night away; singing in the morning. Harvey built his own garage; did his own plumbing, he was a handy man -being able to fix just about anything. He worked as a typesetter at Duragraph in both Duluth and Minneapolis. Dad loved his family and welcomed any and all to join. He had a special place in his heart for those people and things who may have been a little broken. He was a favorite uncle to many. His gentleness, love and humor will be deeply missed.

Survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Gladys; six children: Maggie Teal, Jan Jensen, Judy, Chuck, Kris. (Debbie), and Denise Ratzlaff; Daughter-in-law: Karen Ratzlaff; Three bonus children: Neil (Jaime) and Dean (Diane) Restorff, and Nancy (Leland) Menssen; and loads of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and their families. Preceded in death by his two sons: Harvey W and Paul Jeffrey; his father, Benjamin B Ratzlaff and his mother, Anna (nee Penner); his siblings: Francis, Evelyn, Rosella, and Frank: his first wife of 39 years, though ex-wife, Doris Blomquist.
