Loren Stark, 77, of St. James died on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 from 10 to 11a.m., followed by private family services. You may send the family condolences online at www.sturmfh.com. Loren Delmar Stark was the son of Milton and Karen (Kruse) Stark born Sept. 20, 1941 in Gibbon. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Loren attended and graduated from Gibbon High School. He lived in Gibbon and farmed for a few years after his father passed. He drove truck most of his life. He moved to Florida in 1991 where he later retired and later moved back to St. James in 2015. Loren enjoyed playing and watching golf. He also liked bowling and shooting pool. He was proud to be a member of the 300 club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially in the Minnesota River Valley. In Florida, he was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Loren is survived by his children: James (Linda) Stark of New Auburn, Daniel (Ann) Stark of Gibbon, Amy (Scott) Sanders of St. James, Debbie (Dave) McGuire and family of St. James, Pamela (Dave) Forsberg and family of St. James; grandchildren: Dustin (Levi) Schimmelpfennig (Stark), Jimmy (Hannah) Stark, Miranda (Matthew) Murphey, Jacob Ziemer, Brianna Sanders, Brittany Sanders, Willie Sanders, Ethan Stark; great-grandchildren: Shay Stark, Naomi Murphey, Connor Murphey; a sister, Marlys (Stark) Taralseth of Baudette; brother-in-law, Roy Engelby and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Milton and Karen (Carrie Kruse) Stark; brother, Neil and wife, Madeline Stark; sister, Karen (Stark) Engelby, and brother-in-law, Daryl Taralseth.
